The Patterns in Your Life Are Trying to Tell You Something. Are You Paying Attention?
Self-awareness is a very important subject to me because everything else in life flows from truly knowing yourself and over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing practical insights to help you grow in self-awareness.
Today, I’m starting with something many people overlook: patterns.
Patterns are the recurring themes in your habits, relationships, decisions, and emotional responses. They show up quietly, but they shape your outcomes.
Ever caught yourself asking:
“Why does this keep happening to me?”
That question is a clue.
If you consistently show up late to works across different roles, that’s not just a one-off issue it’s a pattern worth examining.
If you’re repeatedly recognized for excellence or attention to detail, that’s also a pattern, one that reveals a strength.
Patterns don’t just describe your behavior; they reveal your values, your fears, and sometimes your blind spots.
Self-awareness begins when you start paying attention:
– What habits keep repeating themselves?
– What triggers my emotional responses?
– What consistently brings me joy or fulfillment?
When you pause to observe instead of ignore, you begin to see what’s been hidden in plain sight.
Notice before you fix. Understand before you judge.
Take a moment today and ask what patterns have consistently shown up in my life?
